Meredith Scerba
Meredith A. Scerba is the VP of Event Management for the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission (GCSC). Meredith oversees the planning, budgeting and operations of all GCSC events. In addition, she is responsible for managing and recruiting for both the volunteer and internship programs.
Meredith began her career with the Cleveland Cavaliers/Gund Arena Company as the Group Events Coordinator. Her responsibilities included developing, planning and executing all events conducted by the Group Sales Department with the overall goal of increasing ticket sales for the NBA Cavaliers, WNBA Rockers and Gund Arena Family Shows. These events included Cheerleading Competitions, Cavalier Girl’s Dance Clinics, Career Fairs, DECA Days, Globetrotter Clinics, Halftimes and more.
While in this position, Meredith was recognized by the NBA League office for “best practices” by personally creating organizational documents used by the Cavaliers Group Sales Department to better manage clients. In 2004, she played a vital part in the success of the Cavaliers Group Sales Department when setting the new NBA record in sales with a new mark of 3.2 million in Groups tickets.
Meredith’s extracurricular positions include serving as a board member of WISE Cleveland and America SCORES Cleveland in addition to being an active member of ISES (International Special Events Society) Cleveland Chapter. Special honors include being honored in 2008 as one Crain’s Cleveland Business Magazines’ Twenty in their Twenties recipients and chosen to be apart of the 2009 Bridge Builders Flagship program.
Graduate from the University of Findlay, located in Findlay Ohio with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Business Management. Meredith attended the university on a swimming scholarship, where she was an Academic All-American and team captain her junior and senior years.
Meredith resides in Westlake, OH with her husband Matt, an Environmental Health and Safety Director for Bendix Brakes in Elyria.
