Greater Cleveland Sports Commission (GCSC) prides itself on being one of the most distinguished sports commissions in the country, effectively leveraging sporting events and activities to further economic development in Northeast Ohio.

Since 2000, Greater Cleveland Sports Commission has grown to become a relevant and dynamic organization, governed by a committed group of trustees representing some of the region’s most esteemed private, public and nonprofit institutions.The organization currently has 12 full-time staff overseeing business development, marketing, communications, fundraising and event management. 

Greater Cleveland Sports Commission has been directly responsible for attracting more than 190 sporting events which have contributed over $570 million in economic activity to Northeast Ohio. GCSC supports the local economy, utilizes sports as a vehicle to forward community agendas and maintains a goal of producing events that are more successful when held in Cleveland than in other cities.

The mission of GCSC is to measurably enhance the economy, image and quality of life in the Greater Cleveland community by attracting and creating significant sporting events and activities.

It's philosophy to operate as an economic and community development organization that utilizes sports as a vehicle to forward other community agendas, sets it apart from other similar establishments. The organization takes the unique approach of becoming a management and financial partner in each event.
