CLEVELAND 2010

Sports

Six sports will be played in the 2010 World School Games.  Gold and Silver   (Bronze for Track & Field, Tennis and Swimming) medals will be awarded in each competition.

Basketball

  • Competition: 5 v. 5
  • Boys and girls teams
  • Athletic delegation size: min. 8 per sex
  • International rules will apply

  • Competition: 7 v. 7
  • Boys and girls teams
  • Athletic delegation size: 8 – 14 per sex
  • International rules will apply

Volleyball

  • Competition: 6 v. 6
  • Girls teams only
  • Athletic delegation size: 8 – 12
  • Rules governed by USAV

Tennis

  • Competition: Singles Only
  • Boys and girls
  • Athletic delegation size: 1 – 2 per sex
  • I.T.F. rules will apply
  • Tournament will be played on a hard court playing surface

Swimming

  • Boys and girls teams
  • Athletic delegation size: 1 – 4 per sex per event
  • All athletes permitted to participate in a maximum of 4 events including no more than 3 individual events from the following: 50 Freestyle, 100 Breast Stoke, 100 Back Stroke, 100 Fly, 100 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley, 400 Medley Relay, 400 Freestyle Relay

Track & Field/Athletics

  • Boys and girls teams
  • Athletic delegation size: 1 – 6 per sex
  • I.A.A.F. Rules will apply.  All athletes permitted to participate in 2 individual events and 1 relay from the following: from the following: 100m Dash, 400m Dash, 1500 m Run, High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, Discus, 4 x 100m Relay, 4 x 400m Relay, 110/100m hurdles (Boys-High, Girls-Low).
