With 3,000 athletes from a dozen countries competing in three different sports, the Continental Cup International Youth Sports Festival presented by Cleveland Clinic Sports Health has built quite the reputation. The 10th version of the event in 2015 featured teams from Mongolia, Colombia, Nepal, Brazil, Kenya, Uganda, China and Canada experiencing, competing and interacting all weekend long.

Planning is underway for the 2016 version of the Continental Cup. The event will obviously have all the competitions on the field, diamond and court. But the Continental Cup will also once again prioritize opportunities for athletes from around the world to interact, experience new cultures and make new friends.

While more details will be developed in the coming weeks, athletes can start to get excited for an awesome slate of ancillary events and activities.

    Continental Cup Ancillary Events

    • Thursday, June 30: The Continental Cup Opening Festival will once again launch the event with an activities, food and a celebration of all 3,000-plus athletes.
    • Friday, July 1: Beats and Eats will feature Cleveland’s best food trucks, music and more fun activities. Friday will also feature the Skills Challenge!
    • Saturday, July 2: Go karts, mini-golf, batting cages, arcade games and bumper boats take center stage at Swings-n-Things Night.
    • Sunday, July 3: Go for strikes and avoid the gutters at bowling night!

“The slate of ancillary events offered by the Continental Cup is what makes the event unlike a typical weekend tournament,” said the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission’s David Lipinsky. “Our athletes will have great opportunities to interact, make friends and have fun all weekend long.”

With all that action off the court and field, it’s time to make sure your team is registered for the best international youth sports festival around. The event features competitive registration pricing and an invaluable experience.
