World Team Trial Qualifier

For the 11th straight year, Stile Fieldhouse at The University of Akron will host over 1,200 athletes competing for spots on US National teams in Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling

For the 12th consective year, Stile Fieldhouse at The University of Akron hosted the USA Wrestling UWW Cadet & U23 World Team Trial Qualifiers presented by University Hospitals Sports Medicine. This event featured over 1,200 athletes competing for top spots on Team USA in Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling. 

Event Information

U23 WORLD TEAM TRAIL 

Only the following individuals may participate as competitors in the 2018 U23 World Team Trial Qualifiers:

Students who are currently officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute whose status is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country.
Former students of the institutions mentioned above who have obtained their academic degree or diploma in the year preceding the event.

All competitors must be U.S. citizens - born 1995-1999 (19-23 years old). 2000 with medical certificate. 

UWW CADET WORLD TEAM TRIAL 

The event also features competition for UWW Cadet age athletes (born 2001-2003) in Men's Freestyle and Greco-Roman. The champion in each UWW Cadet weight class qualifies to represent the United States at the 2018 UWW Cadet World Championships.

Top eight (8) place winners at this event qualify for:

UWW Cadets born 2002-2003:

  • Cadet National teams in the same style 
  • Junior Nationals in the same style (if they are still in high school) 

UWW Cadets born 2001: 

  • Junior Nationals in the same style 

Athletes must still adhere to all state policies and you qualify in the same style in which you place. The Junior & Cadet National Championships will be held in Fargo, ND on July 12-20, 2018.
