About the World Games

The inaugural World School Games will take place July 20 - 25, 2010 in Cleveland, Ohio USA, a large multi-ethnic city with a history of hosting major international events.

The essential purpose for planning and executing the World School Games is solely for providing secondary school athletes a chance to be a part of a unique multi-cultural sporting event which emphasized more than just sports. We understand today, sport is not on the top of the list as many schools and government eliminates athletic programs. This is why the World School Games takes advantage of the joy in sports to attract athletes for a cultural and educational purpose. Your athletes will not only get a one-time chance to compete with athletes from all over the world, but expose themselves to different cultures/ backgrounds, through a variety of different social events every night, which is one of the most vital experience one could ever come across in a “small world.”

Theat being said, it is important and our responsibilities to educate and familiarize ourselves to be open-minded in a society like today. Both students and coaches will be able to interact and exchange different knowledge/expertise while adopting different style of play in their sports to benefit their programs in many ways.

The concept of internationalism through sports is not just for elite athletes, it is for everyone to experience and your support is absolutely necessary to this event.

Here are some of the benefits that every participant will experience:
Participate in a one-time unique and life-changing sporting event (on and off the court/field)
Be in an environment where Athletics, Academics and Culture are equally emphasized
Cultivate life-long friendships from all over the world
Expand horizon, knowledge and experience
Chance to engage in new ways of thinking
Learn from each other about oneself and other cultures to improve communities/lives
