In 2017, nearly 30,000 fans packed FirstEnergy Stadium as Cleveland hosted a group stage of the prestigious Concacaf Gold Cup. With a goal to get 40,000 in attendance, Northeast Ohio is excited to welcome back the doubleheader on Saturday, June 22, 2019.
FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns, has again been selected as a host venue for the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup. This marks the second time the international men’s soccer tournament will have games in Northeast Ohio after Cleveland hosted a doubleheader featuring the U.S. Men’s National Team, Martinique, Nicaragua and Panama during the final leg of Group B play in 2017.
Through the partnership of the Cleveland Browns and Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, Cleveland is one of 15 venues named as a host site for the 15th edition of the Concacaf Gold Cup.This event will provide an estimated $4,000,000 in economic impact to Northeast Ohio.
Cleveland will host Group D in 2019 featuring the following matchups: Gregg Berhalter’s United States Men's Team vs. Trinidad and Tobago and then Guyana vs. Panama, in what is sure to be a tightly contested match.
