Diversity Thought Leadership Series


Through the KeyBank Diversity Thought Leadership Series, The City Club of Cleveland will host an in-person panel discussion on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021 at 12 p.m. focused on diversity, equity and inclusion in the NBA and WNBA.

Join us as we hear from Oris Stuart, Chief People & Inclusion Officer at the NBA, Bonnie Thurston, Director for WNBA Player Programs and Kevin Clayton, VP of Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement at the Cleveland Cavaliers on how the past year has reshaped how both leagues engage athletes and fans to become allies for social change.

This team will also share how the 2022 NBA All-Star Game in Cleveland will provide opportunities to engage the community in diversity, equity and inclusion efforts locally.

As part of Velocity’s community programming, this annual speaker series will be hosted by the historic The City Club of Cleveland, featuring pioneers in sports to discuss topics such as athlete activism, social justice, women in sports, LGBTQ+ and minorities in professional sports.
