USA ARTISTIC SWIMMING EVENTS TO MAKE WAVES IN CLEVELAND IN EARLY 2022
Cleveland is set to host the 2022 USA Artistic Swimming Junior and Senior Championships and National Team Trials on April 6-10 at SPIRE Institute and Academy (IA).
Greater Cleveland Sports Commission looks forward to welcoming nearly 300 artistic swimmers to Northeast Ohio next spring as they spin, float, lift and twist their way to victory at the world-class aquatic facility located in Geneva, OH.
Since being established as an official Olympic sport in 1984, artistic swimmers will compete across four events: solo, duet, mixed duet and team. Athletes will need to qualify at their respective regional events before traveling to Cleveland to compete at this National Championship and vie for a spot, on Team USA.
Constructed on 500 acres with over 750,000 square feet, SPIRE’s world-class facilities are among the largest indoor sport complexes in the country and are no stranger to hosting Olympics trials and world championships qualifiers; making it well-prepared to host these artistic swimming events.
“Cleveland is honored to host the 2022 USA Artistic Swimming Junior and Senior Championship, JR/SR National Team Trials at our world class facility, SPIRE, which will provide a wonderful space to watch these incredibly talented athletes compete, “said David Gilbert, President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission. “With our region expecting an estimated $600-thousand in direct spending from this exciting competition, our team is ready to welcome the 300 athletes this coming April.”
More information regarding event schedule, admission and live coverage will be available at a later date. Visit USA Artistic Swimming's website for more information.
