The Biggest Night In Cleveland Sports!

The 25th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards presented by Medical Mutual and Ancora took place on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2025, at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.

This year’s Sports Awards featured a new show format, including two stages: The "Legends" stage sponsored by JP Morgan Chase, will feature fireside chat conversations and special presentations, while the "Champions" stage sponsored by Minutemen Staffing will feature awards presentations and more. Many sports celebrities will join this year’s show:

Veteran sports broadcaster and Cleveland native Chris Rose moderated a special fireside chat, reflecting on memorable moments from the 1995 American League Championship season. National Baseball Hall of Famer Jim Thome, along with Cleveland baseball legends Charles Nagy, Kenny Lofton, and Mike Hargrove, will join Rose for this reunion.

WKYC 3News anchor Jay Crawford will be joined on-stage by Cleveland Browns radio host Nathan Zegura for a tribute as part of the renaming of the Jim Donovan Courage Award presented by Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine.

Cleveland natives:

  • Katie Moon (Olmsted Falls High School), American pole vaulter; gold medalist at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2022 and 2023 World Athletics Championships; silver medalist at the 2022 World Indoor Championships and the 2024 Summer Olympics
  • Ted Ginn Jr. (Glenville High School), former NFL player, Ohio State University alum and 2004 Collegiate Athlete of the Year at Cleveland Sports Awards

Former members of the Cleveland Cavaliers Daniel “Booby” Gibson and Anderson Varejao.

Former members of the Cleveland Indians (now Guardians) Rajai Davis and Jensen Lewis (VIDEO).

Former member of the Cleveland Browns Josh Cribbs (2010 Professional Athlete of the Year at Cleveland Sports Awards).
