VOTING PROCESS

Local sports and media outlets will be invited to nominate athletes and select finalists from Northeast Ohio from the following nine counties: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Stark and Summit. 

The following is a sample of local media outlets asked to participate in the nomination process:

Finalists will be selected in each of the following Greater Cleveland Sports Awards categories:

  • Male High School Athlete of the Year

  • Male Collegiate Athlete of the Year
  • Female Collegiate Athlete of the Year
  • Professional Athlete of the Year

A special awards committee is formed to select recipients for the following awards:

Best Moment in Cleveland Sports is nominated by the general public and local media who provide their submissions for their top moment in Cleveland sports during 2024. The winning moment is based on the number of submissions and will be announced live during the 25th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards presented by Medical Mutual and Ancora.
