Nominees must be an athlete from one of Cleveland's professional sports teams or who hails from the Greater Cleveland Area that excelled in their sport. (Athletes from the Greater Cleveland Area in the NFL, NBA or MLB that plays for a team outside of the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Guardians are NOT qualified to be a finalist).
