HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND SHOWCASE

Ten local high school marching bands will perform along with the Kent State University marching band in a patriotic themed halftime show. Over 1,200 band members in all will take the field for this spectacular segment of the festivities.

Participating high schools include:

Bedford, Cuyahoga Falls, Eastlake North, Lutheran West, Northmor, North Olmsted, Norwalk, Springfield, Streetsboro and United.

WWII VETERANS PROCESSION & HONOR FLIGHT PRESENTATION

This special tribute to veterans is to commemorate the 16 million who served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II, the more than 400,000 who gave their lives, and all who supported the war effort from home. In remembrance of the defining event of the 20th century, this recognition represents the spirit, sacrifice, and commitment of the brave men and women who serve or have served in the US Armed Forces.

Twenty-five active duty military personnel will escort twenty-five WWII veterans for a special recognition ceremony which includes a donation and check presentation to the Honor Flight program.

Honor Flight is a non profit organization created solely to honor America's veterans for all of their sacrifices. Honor Flight will fly our heroes to Washington, DC to visit and reflect at their memorials. Based on recent statistics, the United States is losing WWII veterans at a rate of 1,200 per day. Honor Flight is a program that will continue to do whatever it takes to fulfill the dreams of our veterans.
