CLEVELAND – 2020 Best Moment in Cleveland Sports presented by JACK Entertainment contest is now open. Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is asking sports fans to select their best moment from the 2020 Cleveland sports season and “show their game face” by uploading a photo of their reaction to that favorite moment.
The 2020 Best Moment in Cleveland Sports, celebrating the most iconic sports achievement from the previous year, will be announced live during 21st Greater Cleveland Sports Awards presented by Medical Mutual and Ancora. This year, the show will feature a televised special held on Thursday, Mar. 4, 2021 at 7 p.m. and aired on WKYC TV 3, wkyc.com and SportsTime Ohio.
In addition to the award announcement during Sports Awards, Greater Cleveland Sports Commission is accepting nominations for 2020 Best Moment via its website beginning today. The deadline to enter submissions is Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 at 5 p.m. EST. Submissions are free and open to the public. Must be 21 years of age to enter. Rules and regulations for the contest are available here. Winners of the Best Moment contest will be notified on Friday, Feb. 26, 2020.
This year’s Best Moment winner will receive a JACK Entertainment Prize Pack including a JACK Entertainment
t-shirt, JACK Entertainment branded Ohio lightweight quarter zip jacket, baseball hat, tumbler/winter beanie combo, draw-string athletic bag, mug, apron and two passes to the Seven Chefs Buffet ($150 total value).
Additionally, winner will be given two COMMUNITY Tickets to Sports Awards, which provide access to an exclusive ticketed virtual pre-show event featuring local and national sports celebrities which will be streamed live at 6 p.m. prior to Sports Awards, plus two event t-shirts, designed by GV Art + Design ($250 total value).
The Bergman’s, a local couple, won last year’s Best Moment with their submission. A video of their reaction to the news of their win is available here.
“There we’re a lot of memorable moments for Cleveland sports in 2019, but we nominate MLB’s All-Star Summer,” said The Bergman’s. “We were so lucky to attend the week-long events showcasing our city, and Shane Bieber winning the All-Star Game MVP was our favorite.”
In addition to the Best Moment contest, the 2020 Best Moment in Cleveland Sports presented by JACK Entertainment will be a featured award announced during the live televised special. Last year, Sports Awards presented the Best Moment to the Cleveland Indians for the 2019 MLB All-Star Summer events.
