Over 50 rugby teams will compete across four divisions at Cleveland Metroparks Edgewater Beach
WHAT: Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and the Cleveland Crusaders will host Cleveland Beach Rugby 2023 presented by The 1964 Rugby Foundation on July 15, 2023 at Cleveland Metroparks Edgewater Beach. First hosted in 2021, this year’s event will similarly feature 5-on-5 competitions across several divisions including contact and non-contact games.
Over 50 rugby teams featuring nearly 550 athletes from across the Midwest are registered to compete in this year’s tournament. Team divisions include full contact men’s and women’s beach 5s, co-ed beach touch 5s, high school boys and girls beach 5s, and youth beach touch rugby. Tournament winners will receive prize money.
This event is free and open to the public. Competitors and fans are welcome to enjoy the tournament DJ and Edgewater Beach House’s food & drink offerings while watching competition on the sandy pitches. A full schedule of events is available online.
Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine and Physicians Ambulance will provide on-site medical coverage and EMS services, respectively, to all competitors.
This tournament is projected to generate an estimated $275,000 in economic impact for Northeast Ohio.
