Fireside Chat to Feature David Griffin, J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert at Rocket Arena on February 5, 2026

CLEVELAND, OH – Jan. 15, 2026 – Greater Cleveland Sports Commission (GCSC) is proud to announce that the 26th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards, presented by Ancora and Minutemen Workforce Solutions, will host a historic 10th anniversary reunion of the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers. This celebration of Cleveland’s NBA championship will serve as a centerpiece of the awards ceremony on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Rocket Arena.

The evening’s exclusive Fireside Chat, presented by betJACK, will be moderated by Mark Schwab of Rock Entertainment Sports Network and 19 News. Schwab will lead a deep-dive conversation with the key architects and personalities of the 2016 championship run. The featured panel includes:

• David Griffin: Cavaliers General Manager (2014-2017)
• J.R. Smith: Cavaliers Shooting Guard (2015-2019)
• Iman Shumpert: Cavaliers Shooting Guard / Small Forward (2015-2018)

In addition to the Fireside Chat, the 26th Greater Cleveland Sports Awards will honor the best in Northeast Ohio sports from the past year, ranging from high school standouts to professional icons. The evening will also include Cleveland celebrity emcees and special guest appearances, an exclusive pre-show reception featuring dinner stations, networking, open bar, silent auction, and much more. Following the reception, guests will be seated in the arena for refreshments and a fully produced awards program mirrored on the venue’s big screen. The live awards show will be followed by the After Party presented by Westfield.
